Joachim Kraftmayer

CEO

Joachim Kraftmayer is a seasoned Ceph expert with over 12 years of hands-on experience in open-source storage solutions and more than 25 years working in open source technologies. As the Ceph DACH Community Leader and Ambassador, Joachim plays a pivotal role in the Ceph ecosystem, contributing to its growth and innovation. He is a longstanding member of the Ceph Foundation, Linux Foundation, and CNCF Foundation, bringing deep expertise in cloud-native technologies. One of the most senior Ceph consultants globally, his extensive senior-level skills in software development and Linux engineering make him an invaluable authority in Ceph support and implementation.

Dan van der Ster

CTO

Dan leads the open-source Ceph project as part of the Ceph Executive Council. With over 10 years of experience as a Ceph user and developer, he has consistently pushed Ceph to its limits in scale and performance. Dan built and managed the private cloud storage infrastructure for CERN, serving the global high-energy physics community with over 200 universities and labs. He was responsible for the computing and storage systems that powered the discovery of the Higgs Boson. His expertise will help ensure the success of your organization’s projects.

Mark Nelson

Head of R&D

Mark was a founding engineer at Inktank and is the performance lead for the open-source Ceph project. After Inktank was acquired in 2014, he worked at Red Hat for nine years before joining Clyso in January 2023. Mark has led the Ceph Performance working group for the past decade, driving Ceph’s performance to new heights. Recently, Mark architected a record-breaking 1TiB/s Ceph cluster, which remains the fastest-documented Ceph cluster in the world. His deep expertise in performance optimization will be instrumental in ensuring your organization’s storage solution is robust and high-performing.
